Durant les années 50, 60 et 70, il apparaît occasionnellement dans des productions internationales comme Drôle de frimousse avec Fred Astaire et Audrey Hepburn. Il meurt, victime d'une hémorragie cérébrale, et est inhumé à Saint-Paul-en-Forêt dans le Var.
