Jane Gurnett Poster

Jane Gurnett is best known for her roles in films such as Drowning By Numbers, Liam and Melancholia and British TV drama series such as Casualty (from 1994 to 1996), Dangerfield (1998–1999) and the second incarnation of Crossroads (2001–2003). Her former partner is former Coronation Street actor Ray Fearon, they have one daughter together. Gurnett has been teaching drama at Warwick School since 2010

Liam (2001)

A morality tale of xenophobia, religious prejudice, mob violence, poverty, and their effect on two children in Liverpool during the Depression. When a shipyard closes, Liam and Teresa's dad loses his job. Liam, who's about 8, making his first Holy Communion, gets a regular dose of fire and brimstone at church. An ironic black comedy of love and death that takes place an a lyrically beautiful landscape. Three related women, all named Cissie Colpitts share a solidarity for one another which brings about three copy-cat drownings. The local coroner is in love with all three women and helps to disguise the murders.
