Karthavyam is a 1990 Telugu film directed by Ketan Mehta. The film was a super hit and was subsequently dubbed into Tamil as Vyjayanthi IPS and became a hit there too. The lead actress Vijayashanti won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in this film.
