Poovalli Induchoodan (Mohanlal) is sentenced for six years prison life for murdering his classmate. Induchoodan, the only son of Justice Maranchery Karunakara Menon (Thilakan) was framed in the case by Manapally Madhavan Nambiar (Narayanan Nair) and his crony DYSP Sankaranarayanan (Bheeman Raghu) to take revenge on idealist judge Menon who had earlier given jail sentence to Manapally in a corruption case. The story begins with Induchoodan released and his father & mother coming to stay with him.

Aarcha, an arrogant woman from a wealthy family uses her brothers to control everything around her. Her life takes a turn when a new lawyer arrives in her village.

Rajadurai is a kind person and he makes sure that injustice is done to no one. Ponnazhagi does not like Raja and plans his downfall. Later Raja learns that Ponnazhagi is his step mother.

The film follows the adventures of three retirees. Mahendran Thambi, Ommanakuttan Pillai, and Cherian Thomas. Thambi comes up with the plan of starting a theatre troupe.

Kumaran (Thilakan) is a social worker. Captain Vijay (Mohanlal) is an army captain who is on his annual leave and has come to stay with his maternal uncle. In a turn of events Vijay sees Kumaran injured from an accident and crying for help. He takes Kumaran to a hospital but could not save his life. There develops a strong bond between Kumaran and Vijay which pulls him into finding out the accident was a preplanned murder.

The film revolves around an active social worker, Rameshan Nair. He was leading a happy family life but problems begin when a girl enters his life.

Chidambaram, a newly appointed school teacher, stays in an allegedly haunted house. He comes to an agreement living with the ghost of the house, Shivakami, who actually pretends as a ghost to him. The relationship builds on and both end up in love.
